This BARNDOMINIUM home blends modern comfort with Swedish and rustic charm, creating a playful and cozy atmosphere that’s perfect for animal lovers of all ages. This home is specially curated to evoke exploration of "all things farm." From animals outside every window, to books and animal-themed rooms, kids too, will love the box of farm-themed toys and toddlers love riding the bouncy pony around the house! For a closer look, step outside and discover your very own barnyard oasis with a delightful mix of up-close farm animals including an alpaca, miniature goats, top-hat chickens, a red-haired pig, wooly sheep, turkeys, a mini-horse, and even a beautiful Indian peacock. Purchase some fresh eggs while you're here and play the "surfboard challenge" where you can try to land a treat on the surfboard and see if the chickens will jump up and "surf"!

Inside the home, hunt down the “hidden game zone” featuring a 5-foot tall arcade and Velcro darts that are sure to entertain gamers of all ages. Kids will love the FREE indoor scavenger hunt and learning the animal's names with the "memory challenge."

The Swedish Cowboy Barndominium is perfect for a variety of gatherings, from small family getaways to large reunions or special events like wedding proposals and birthdays. Couples, families, and groups, such as Boy/Girl Scouts and church organizations, will find it an inviting and versatile space. If you need more room, consider renting multiple units or the entire ranch for your event. To book, simply send us a message to arrange your stay. Keep in mind, that all overnight guests are required to select at least one ranch activity (free or paid) when making their reservation.

FAQ's

1. What should I bring on my trip? Shelley suggests bringing drinking water, oil/ butter for cooking on stainless steel, slippers/ loafers, and campfire wood if using the firepit (or you can buy ours and have it delivered to your doorstep.) If you're planning on using the jacuzzi, please leave home any bubble baths, bath bombs or salts as these are harmful on jacuzzis (using plain water is best.) The "Chores N' Tour experience (feeding all the farm animals) requires closed-toe shoes such as sneakers or boots. No flip-flops or sandals are allowed for animal experiences.

2. Can I walk around the ranch, unattended? Keep in mind we are a small ranch and while 1/2 of our property is open, the other 1/2 is livestock pastures. You can walk to the glampground, play a round of corn hole or check out the horseshoe pit area. The animal rescue part of the farm is off-limits for safety without Shelley accompanying you. Sign up for Chores N' Tour if you'd like "backstage access" into the animal rescue part of the farm to feed and learn about all 20 animals alongside Shelley.

3. What animals are in my private barnyard? The barndominium has its own, fenced barnyard that consists of a wooly sheep, a miniature horse, an entire chicken coop where you can feed the chickens and a visit a beautiful Indian peacock anytime you'd like. You will also be able to visit up close (but not touch) the turkeys, a mini pig, and an alpaca.

4. This home sleeps four (4) guests *including* babies & children. Have more than four (4)? Add a fifth (5th), and sixth (6th) guests for $25.00 each additional person for your stay. We do not accommodate more than 6 guests max.

5. What's the history of the ranch? The property was a horse rescue for two decades. Local students take horse lessons here and the public books guided educational tours and paint parties. The ranch also produces a small amount of alpaca fiber and sheep wool that's sold yearly.

6. Can friends and family visit me while I'm at the ranch? No. The only people permitted to enter the property are registered guests. The public cannot access the property and we have a coded entrance gate. As a guest, you can expect to see other guests here, not people walking in off the street.

7. Can I catch a UBER or LYFT? Yes! You can easily catch a ride to Ocean City, Maryland, or beyond. You must be picked up at the entrance gate, not at the barndominium. How about food delivery? Yes! Order Doordash or pizza delivery. Just plan to meet your driver at the entrance gate, not the barndominium.

8. Is there an option for early check-ins and late check-outs? No. Because this property has multiple rentals, we do not allow early check-ins or late check-outs. All cleans are performed on time, keeping us on schedule for the next guest. Thanks for your understanding.

9. Are activities for children a different price than adults? All of our on-site activities are the same price for everyone.

10. Can I bring my pet or service animals? No. We are ADA service animal exempt due to safety issues with animals on display that are natural prey/ natural predators of animals including dogs. We also do not allow pets.

11. What is the smoking/ vaping policy? We operate a strict no-smoking and no-vaping policy at all times inside all of our rentals. The Swedish Cowboy space is located inside a barn and smoking of any kind is strictly prohibited while inside the barn house or directly outside. The best place to smoke is by walking down the driveway or inside your car (away from the barn.)

12. How secure is the ranch? The property has six outdoor security cameras running and in use at all times. These outdoor security cameras help protect humans and animals alike. There's a coded entrance gate upon your arrival to the ranch and there is on-site management that is available during your stay. You cannot enter the property without your temporary code and we ask that you do not give it out while you're here.

13. What other rentals are at the ranch? Scattered through the property is a tiny house, two bell tent yurts, mini-cabins and an entire Old West-themed glampground. YES! You can have friends and family rent other units and make this a group experience. You can also see all of our listings if you click our name (logo.)

14. What are the checkout procedures? We have a 5-step checkout process and ask that our guests leave the barn house the way they found it, (neat and tidy.) We love to brag about super clean guests who leave our home well cared for. You will see our checkout procedures on the refrigerator.

Rates & Availability

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges (less $100.00 taxable cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges (less $100.00 taxable cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 14 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
