Howdy Partner! Dust off your boots and stay at Cowtown Cabins, the beach area's newest ranch experience, featuring a Wild West town in the making!

The "Old West Bank" is a one-room mini-cabin that sleeps two (2) and will take you back to the time of bank robberies & gold. However, this town bank comes with two twin-size beds in case you have an extra cowboy/ cowgirl with you! Enjoy a smart TV, a mini fridge, a microwave, a pod-style coffee maker, an electric kettle and AC/ heat during this unique experience. This space is light & bright due to the beautiful stained glass windows and you'll enjoy watching Herbie the Scottish Highland peacefully graze from the rear windows. (Don't forget to bring your whole apples to throw to him!) Since this bank has a lot of gold, you can enjoy the rocking chairs on the front porch and keep an eye out for any bandits! Keep in mind, that Cowtown Cabins is a self-curated ranch experience. Overnight guests are required to choose at least one free or paid ranch activity when booking.

While our bathhouse is still under construction, there is access to a FLUSHABLE portable potty. See pictures to best plan. This is a RUSTIC ranch experience with a porta-potty!! You'll also have access to running water with an outdoor sink/ hose combo and an open outdoor hot/cold shower. Again, please see the pictures so you know if this is a great match for you VS. a standard hotel room.

While here at the ranch, enjoy one of our many on-site experiences, such as "Chores N' Tour" (feeding, watering, and learning about 20+ farm animals, Brush N" Bond (grooming horses, ) canvas painting under the old oak tree or my specialty, Horse Whispering! This stay caters to couples, two friends or relatives getting away and looking to unwind in a peaceful, unique setting and engage in memorable experiences. We're also popular for parent/ child trips, surprise birthdays, wedding proposals, family reunions, groups, and retreats.

Cowtown Cabins is just minutes from Maryland, Delaware beaches and restaurants galore. Also nearby is Thunder Lagoon Waterpark, live concerts at Freeman Stage, local vineyards, grocery stores, McDonald's, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Ocean Downs Casino, hiking and biking at James Farm, and more. Everything you could want is at your fingertips and very close by. If you desire to be at the beach, but skip the loud condo neighbors and buzzing OC crowds, then this is the place for you!

*** Quick Note: We don’t have an option for early check-in or late checkouts. Check-in is from 4-9pm. Checkout is at 10am. We also do not allow pets and are service animal exempt. Thank you for leaving your animals safely at home while enjoying all 20+ of ours!

FAQ's

1. What should I bring on my ranch trip?
- Bring drinking water (also used to fill coffee maker)
- Extra coffee pods and tea
- Campfire wood if using the firepit (or you can buy ours and have it delivered to your doorstep.)
- BBQ charcoal & utensils if using the grill
- Disposable cups, plates utensils
- Baby carrots, string beans to feed the goats and whole apples to feed the cow
- Your bath & beach towels
- Whatever you need to camp out comfortably
- If you plan on doing "Chores N' Tour with Shelley and feeding all the farm animals, bring closed-toe shoes such as sneakers or boots. No flip-flops or sandals are allowed for animal experiences.

2. Can I wander around the ranch, unattended? Keep in mind we are a small ranch and while 1/2 of our property is open, the other 1/2 is livestock pastures and other rentals.

3. Can I access the all animals? The BANK backs up to a cattle pasture with "Herbie" the Scottish Highland to enjoy from the back windows. You'll also be able to pet and feed the welcoming crew of goats. Bring the green beans and baby carrots for your new best friends! You can walk to the Old West town, feed the goats, throw whole apples to Herbie the Highland cattle or play a round of corn hole or horseshoes. To access all the animals, book Chores N' Tour which is an hour-long experience feeding, watering and touring the entire ranch.

4. What other ranch rentals are there? There is a barndominium, tiny house, two bell tent yurts, other mini-cabins, and an entire Old West-themed village at the ranch. YES! You can have friends and family RENT other units and make this a group experience. You can also see all of our listings if you click our name (logo.)

5. What's the history of the ranch? The property was a horse rescue for two decades. Some students take horse lessons here and the public books guided educational tours and paint parties. The ranch also produces a small amount of alpaca fiber and sheep wool that's sold yearly.

6. Can friends and family visit me while I'm at the ranch? No. The only people permitted to enter the property are registered guests. The public cannot access the property and we have a coded entrance gate. As a guest, you can expect to see other guests here, not people walking in off the street.

7. Can I catch a UBER or LYFT? Yes! You can easily catch a ride to Ocean City, Maryland, or beyond. You must be picked up at the entrance gate, not at the barndominium. How about food delivery? Yes! Order Doordash or pizza delivery. Just plan to meet your driver at the entrance gate, not the Jail.

8. Is there an option for early check-ins and late check-outs? No. Because this property has multiple rentals, we do not allow early check-ins or late check-outs.

9. Are activities for children a different price than adults? All of our paid on-site activities are the same price for everyone. It's FREE to feed the goats and cow anytime you'd like! Inside the mini-cabin, you'll also find our Animal Name Challenge which is also FREE!

10. Can I bring my pet or service animals? No. We do not allow any guest animals or pets to stay with us due to regulations and safety issues. We are also service animal exempt due to safety issues with nearby guardian livestock.

11. What is the smoking/ vaping policy? We operate a strict no-smoking, no marijuana smoking, no-vaping policy at all times inside our rentals. The best place to smoke is by walking down the driveway or inside your car (away from the stable.)

12. How secure is the ranch? The property has six outdoor security cameras running and in use at all times. These outdoor security cameras help protect humans and animals alike. There's a coded entrance gate upon your arrival to the ranch and there is on-site management that is available during your stay. You cannot enter the property without a code and we ask that you do not give it out while you're here. The Jail also has a Ring doorbell.

13. This mini-cabin sleeps two (2) guests *including* babies & children. We do not accommodate more than two (2) guests max.

14. What are the checkout procedures? We have a 4-step checkout process and ask that our guests leave the Jail the way they found it, (neat and tidy.) We love to brag about super clean guests who leave the space well cared for. You will see our checkout procedures on posted inside. These include:

-Clear out fridge and microwave of food/ drinks
-Tidy up the Jail house and leave it the way you found it
-Clean up any outdoor spaces you used
-Throw your Jail house trash away into the dumpsters (at the property entrance.) Recycle is paper & plastic only.

15. What are the bathroom details? Currently, we have a flushable portable potty. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK if you need a traditional flushing toilet as this part of the experience is a RUSTIC ranch experience. We have running water at the OPEN hot/cold rinse area shower and the white outdoor utility sink w/ hose. Again, this is part of the rustic stay experience vs. a hotel room. Please see the pictures to best plan. Remember to bring your own bath towels & beach towels! Our new bathhouse is UNDER CONSTRUCTION and due to open soon, but until then follow the above "RUSTIC" info to make sure this type of stay suits you.
