This is a RUSTIC ranch experience with a porta-potty!! You'll also have access to running water with an outdoor sink/ hose combo and an open outdoor hot/cold shower. Again, please see the pictures so you know if this is a great match for you VS. a standard hotel room.

FAQ's
1. What should I bring on my ranch trip?
- Bring drinking water (also used to fill coffee maker)
- Extra coffee pods and tea
- Campfire wood if using the firepit (or you can buy ours and have it delivered to your doorstep.)
- BBQ charcoal & utensils if using the grill
- Disposable cups, plates utensils
- Baby carrots, string beans and whole apples to feed animals
- Your bath & beach towels
- Whatever you need to camp out comfortably
- If you plan on doing "Chores N' Tour with Shelley and feeding all the farm animals, bring closed-toe shoes such as sneakers or boots. No flip-flops or sandals are allowed for animal experiences.
2. Can I wander around the ranch, unattended? Keep in mind we are a small ranch and while 1/2 of our property is open, the other 1/2 is livestock pastures and other rentals.
3. Can I access the all animals? The JAIL backs up to a cattle pasture with "Herbie" the Scottish Highland to enjoy from the back windows. You'll also be able to pet and feed the welcoming crew of goats. Bring the green beans and baby carrots! You can walk to the Old West town, feed the goats, throw whole apples to Herbie the Highland cattle or play a round of corn hole or horseshoes. To access all the animals, book Chores N' Tour which is an hour-long experience feeding, watering and touring the entire ranch.
4. What other ranch rentals are there? There is a barndominium, tiny house, two bell tent yurts, other mini-cabins, and an entire Old West-themed village at the ranch. YES! You can have friends and family RENT other units and make this a group experience. You can also see all of our listings if you click our name (logo.)
5. What's the history of the ranch? The property was a horse rescue for two decades. Some students take horse lessons here and the public books guided educational tours and paint parties. The ranch also produces a small amount of alpaca fiber and sheep wool that's sold yearly.
6. Can friends and family visit me while I'm at the ranch? No. The only people permitted to enter the property are registered guests. The public cannot access the property and we have a coded entrance gate. As a guest, you can expect to see other guests here, not people walking in off the street.
7. Can I catch a UBER or LYFT? Yes! You can easily catch a ride to Ocean City, Maryland, or beyond. You must be picked up at the entrance gate, not at the barndominium. How about food delivery? Yes! Order Doordash or pizza delivery. Just plan to meet your driver at the entrance gate, not the Jail.
8. Is there an option for early check-ins and late check-outs? No. Because this property has multiple rentals, we do not allow early check-ins or late check-outs. All cleans are performed on time and this keeps us on schedule for the next guest. Thanks for planning ahead!
9. Are activities for children a different price than adults? All of our on-site activities are the same price for everyone. It's also FREE to feed the goats and cow anytime you'd like! Inside the mini-cabin, you'll also find our Animal Name Challenge which is also FREE!
10. Can I bring my pet or service animals? No. We do not allow any guest animals or pets to stay with us due to regulations and safety issues. We are also service animal exempt due to safety issues with nearby guardian livestock.
11. What is the smoking/ vaping policy? We operate a strict no-smoking, no marijuana smoking, no-vaping policy at all times inside our rentals. The best place to smoke is by walking down the driveway or inside your car (away from the stable.)
12. How secure is the ranch? The property has six outdoor security cameras running and in use at all times. These outdoor security cameras help protect humans and animals alike. There's a coded entrance gate upon your arrival to the ranch and there is on-site management that is available during your stay. You cannot enter the property without a code and we ask that you do not give it out while you're here. The Jail also has a Ring doorbell.
13. This mini-cabin sleeps two (2) guests *including* babies & children. We do not accommodate more than two (2) guests max.
14. What are the checkout procedures? We have a 4-step checkout process and ask that our guests leave the Jail the way they found it, (neat and tidy.) We love to brag about super clean guests who leave the space well cared for. You will see our checkout procedures on posted inside. These include:
-Clear out fridge and microwave of food/ drinks
-Tidy up the Jail house and leave it the way you found it
-Clean up any outdoor spaces you used
-Throw your Jail house trash away into the dumpsters (at the property entrance.) Recycle is paper & plastic only.
15. What are the bathroom details? Currently, we have a flushable portable potty. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK if you need a traditional flushing toilet as this part of the experience is a RUSTIC ranch experience. We have running water at the OPEN hot/cold rinse area shower and the white outdoor utility sink w/ hose. Again, this is part of the rustic stay experience vs. a hotel room. Please see the pictures to best plan. Remember to bring your own bath towels & beach towels! Our new bathhouse is UNDER CONSTRUCTION and due to open soon, but until then follow the above "RUSTIC" info to make sure this type of stay suits you.
16. How is WIFI at the Jail? WIFI is slower at our mini-cabins. Expect Youtube, and FIRE TV movies. For better WIFI or remote work, check out the Garden Hideaway Tiny House or our Barndominium.
