Embarking on a ranch stay promises an immersive and educational experience where you can engage in a variety of hands-on activities tailored to your interests. Whether you're from the city or an aspiring homesteader, this unique ranch stay offers a unique opportunity to learn and participate in various aspects of farm life. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect and how you can make the most out of your stay.
1. Planning Your Ranch Agenda

Preparation Phase: Start planning your activities well in advance. This can be done via email or text once your reservation is complete. Planning early ensures you can secure spots in popular activities and allows the ranch staff to prepare adequately.


Activity Selection: Consider your interests and goals for the stay


Animal Care: Chores N' Tour teaches about animal husbandry, feeding, and care for livestock such as cows, chickens, horses, alpacas, peacocks, turkeys, goats, and pigs. Meet some of the farm's rescued animals and learn about the industries that they originated from. 
Crop Cultivation: Participate in harvesting herbs, fresh flowers or blackberries (June- Sept)
Specialty Experiences: Check out other activities like canvas painting under the old oak tree, Brush N' Bond horse grooming and unique Horse Whispering lessons

2. Daily Routine on the Farm

Mornings: Wake up to the serene sights and sounds of the farm. Sip a freshly made cup of coffee on the porch while watching the animals next to your accommodation. Plan to see farm chores happening, and lessons being given  

Hands-On Experience: Roll up your sleeves and feed snacks to the animals all day long. Bring your apples and toss them over to Herbie the bull, or feed baby carrots to the herd of goats! Each rental here has a slightly different barnyard animals and experiences.


3. Flexibility and Additional Activities

 

Free Overnight Guest Activities: Keep your eyes peeled in our FREE Indoor scavenger hunt! Find all the farm animals and win a prize! If you have a good memory, try the Name Challenge by reciting every animal name back to Shelley!

Adding Activities: Throughout your stay, you may discover new interests or wish to delve deeper into certain topics or experiences. Additional activities can often be added during your stay, subject to availability and prior approval from ranch staff.

Learning Opportunities: Take advantage of the opportunity to ask questions and learn from an experienced farmer. Enjoy insights into farming practices, the challenges and rewards of farm life, and tips for starting your own homestead if that's your goal. Howdy! I’m Shelley your host and ranch activity curator! During your stay, feed 20 farm animals, paint under the old oak tree, groom horses alongside me, or embark into my specialty- horse whispering! I’ll guide you as you tour around the ranch and learn about the unique and unexpected history of Cowtown Cabins. I can’t wait to meet you!
Keep in mind, that Cowtown Cabins is a self-curated ranch experience.
